Audition Information

**Auditions for the 2026 Season will be held on Saturday, November 1st from       10:00AM – 6:00PM at Keizer Homegrown Theatre!**

Playing Doctor: 10:00AM – 11:45AM

The Half Life of Marie Curie: 12:00PM – 1:45 PM

I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (musical): 2:00PM – 3:45PM

JQA: 4:00PM – 6:00PM

Please note that Misery and Shakespeare in the Park will be auditioned later in the year! Make sure you’re following us on Facebook for up to date information!

We do auditions differently than most theaters. All of the shows in our season are cast in one weekend! It’s unconventional but it works for us and has proven to be pretty convenient for our actors and directors.

Directors are assigned a time slot to hear people read (or sing!) on a Saturday. Actors can choose to audition for any shows that interest them. Call backs on Sunday follow the same pattern – each director has a call-back slot, and by the end of the weekend, most of our plays have been cast and Keizer Homegrown Theatre has a Season Company!

Specific Audition notes for JQA that did NOT make it onto our From******: PLEASE NOTE AUDTION PREP FOR JQA: JQA (John Quincy Adams) is a post-Hamilton historical fiction set in the ruins of democracy. Cast members will play a variety of characters, round-robin style, moving between genders, ages, and ethnicities. We are (probably) looking for two men and two women of diverse races able to dive deeply into four or five characters. This is a play for passionate voices. Rehearsals will start late-April. (Rated PG-13 for language).

Auditions: Please prepare TWO of the posted monologues (you need not be memorized), one from John Quincy Adams and one from any other character. Make them as distinct as possible. Auditions will start with the monologues and then moved to paired scenes.

Pro Tip: To save time at your audition, you can download and print your form and bring it already filled out!
